10 December 2018, Port of Spain. To mark the seventieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights document, UNIC hosted an event that brought civil society activists togteher with resident offices in Trinidad and Tobago. The aim of this activity was to engage in dialogue so that each office and organisation would get a better understanding of the work the they were doing in the area or human rights and also explore possible opportunites for working together in the future, where they saw common interest.
UNIC encouraged the participants to also support and promote each others work in the geographic areas the they cover. Some other ideas that came out of the dialogues that day were, sharing lessons from past projects, jointly approaching sponsors for funding and inlcuding the SDGs and Human Rights as part of civil society activities.
